Shear Shore (Fitted) riprap is by far the best option for protection against wave action, water runoff, and ice heaving. The boulders are embedded into the earth with the smoothest and flattest sides exposed. Ice is able to slide over shear shore (fitted) riprap with minimal resistance. Aside from offering the best protection, shear shore (fitted) riprap is the most aesthetically pleasing.
